Every template you create must be submitted to WhatsApp for approval. Before submitting your message templates, ensure that the content adheres to WhatsApp’s guidelines to prevent rejection.
1. Use the template as a conversation starter to encourage the end user to reply to your message.
2. Avoid sending open-ended welcome or introductory messages.
3. Ensure that the template is not abusive or threatening in nature.
4. Select the appropriate template category, type, and language.
5. Upload samples for media files, placeholders, and call-to-action buttons when registering a message template.
6. Write in paragraphs and avoid excessive line breaks.
7. Avoid adjacent variables. For example: {{ 1 }} {{ 2 }}.
8. Do not start or end the template body with a variable {{ 1 }} or a new line character.
9. In header and footer text, avoid using emojis, asterisks, formatting markup, or the \n newline character.
10. Avoid grammatical mistakes.
11. Avoid spelling mistakes.
12. Write in sentence case and refrain from unnecessary capitalization.
13. Do not create multiple templates with identical content.
14. Do not share link URLs that lack your brand and contain random characters.
15. Avoid sending vague or irrelevant messages. For example, instead of “Date: {{ 1 }},” use “Your delivery date is {{ 1 }}.”
16. Keep your templates personalized. For instance, instead of “Dear user, thank you for shopping with us,” write “Dear {{ 1 }}, thank you for shopping {{ 2 }} with us.”
